Sinopec EVA is a thermoplastic copolymer manufactured through the free radical polymerization of ethylene and vinyl acetate in the presence of initiating agents using the high-pressure bulk polymerization process. EVA’s properties vary dramatically from one product to another depending on the content of vinyl acetate in the macromolecule. EVAs with different properties are used for different purposes.
EVA can be processed by many different methods, such as injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, calendering, and foaming. It is principally used in the production of packaging material, agricultural film, injection-molded products, cable material, foamed plastics, masterbatch carriers, blending toughening material, and damping soundproof material. It can also be used in the production of hot melt adhesive, carpet backing, wax-based coatings, and shoe soles. Through hollow molding, EVA can be used for making expandable hoses, micro-irrigation tubes, and other types of flexible hoses.
